Welcome to Healing Heart Yoga

Yoga postures are called asanas in Sanskrit which literally means “to stay or to sit.” In class we will explore your comfort level as you settle into the postures. We will begin from that vantage point using specific instruction for safe alignment and awareness on working deeper with the focus on stability. We meet you “where you are” … props are available and used for support as needed. Along the way you will challenge yourself, building strength and gaining flexibility … enhancing your health and life from the inside-out.

Integrative Restoration, iRest® Yoga Nidra is a guided practice of deep relaxation and meditative inquiry. This practice includes breath awareness, meditation, with techniques of guided imagery and body sensing to invoke relaxation and let go of the deep seated stress and anxiety inherent to modern life. This enables us to be an active participant in maintaining our health and aids in recovering from health challenges…building a sense of well being and resiliency. This practice works within us to discover and build a deeper capacity to meet any and all circumstances that we may encounter in life and has been used to work with PTSD, by giving awareness to overcome trauma by learning to fully engage in the present without being hijacked by survival related emotions and sensations.

“The mind is like the wind and the body is like the sand. If you want to know how the wind is blowing, look at the sand.” Quote by B. Cohen
